Many over the counter drugs can provide temporary relief to those who are suffering from sore throat.  These drugs include pills, tablets, sprays and lozenges.  Anything that contains menthol, phenol or benzocaine can provide relief from sore throat.  If the pain is no longer tolerable, taking analgesics such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen is advised.

Common colds, influenza and flu are among the causes of sore throat.  Steam bathing or taking a hot shower can help you get rid of those problems.  Drinking lots of water and juices as well as eating vegetables and fruits can be used to give you comfort.  One of the best ways to get rid of sore throat is to simply get a lot of rest.  Rest is the best way to improve your health.  The use of a humidifier is also a good way to get rid of a sore throat.

Dealing with sore throat is easy if you know what to do.  Remember to consult the doctor if all these sore throat remedies have failed. If this is the case, then you may be facing a much serious problem.
